Rumos Itaú Cultural 2010

Estão abertas as inscrições para quatro editais do programa Rumos Itaú Cultural 2010: Literatura, Pesquisa, Música e, pela primeira vez, Teatro.

O Rumos faz parte das ações permanentes da instituição desde 1997, como um programa de fomento à produção artística e intelectual do Norte ao Sul do país. As inscrições, gratuitas e feitas exclusivamente pelo site, começam no dia 3 de março e vão até 30 de junho, à exceção do Rumos Literatura, com prazo estendido até 31 de julho. Os interessados podem se inscrever em mais de um edital, desde que com projetos diferentes.

Durante o período de inscrição, haverá palestras, debates e oficinas em todas as capitais brasileiras. Apoio à Criação Literária

A Fundação Biblioteca Nacional, instituição vinculada ao Ministério da Cultura, abriu inscrições para o Programa de Bolsas para Autores com Obras em Fase de Conclusão. A Decisão Executiva nº 8, com as normas para concessão do apoio financeiro, foi publicada nesta sexta-feira, 15 de maio, no Diário Oficial da União (Seção 1, página 21).

A iniciativa é voltada para escritores que tenham, no mínimo, um terço dos originais de suas obras digitados. Os interessados podem realizar as inscrições até o dia 12 de junho. As bolsas serão de R$ 7,5 mil, sendo esse valor dividido em seis parcelas iguais e subsequentes de R$ 1,25 mil.

A vigência da bolsa é de seis meses, não podendo ser prorrogada. O número de contemplados dependerá da disponibilidade orçamentária, da qualidade técnica e literária dos trabalhos inscritos. O julgamento das obras concorrentes se dará no período de 25 de junho a 10 de julho. O resultado será divulgado no dia 20 de julho.

A concessão de bolsas é uma ação do Programa Nacional de Apoio à Pesquisa da FBN/MinC e tem o objetivo de incentivar a criação literária nacional e estimular o escritor a concluir obra autoral. Para a edição de 2009, a seleção contemplará obras dos gêneros Romance, Conto, Poesia, Ensaio Literário e Ensaio Social.

Aberta a todos os professores universitários atuantes ou aposentados, a biblioteca The Rare Book & Manuscript, na Universidade de Illinois, oferece anualmente duas bolsas de estudo no valor de US$3,000.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:

Open to all active scholars from graduate students to retired professors, The Rare Book & Manuscript Library annually awards two John "Bud" Velde Visiting Scholar stipends of $3,000 to facilitate a period of intense individual study -- usually one month -- in The Rare Book & Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

The research strengths of The Rare Book & Manuscript Library are manifold. Comprehensive collections support studies in printing and printing history, Renaissance studies, Elizabethan and Stuart life and letters, John Milton and his age, emblem studies, economic history, and works on early science and natural history. The library also houses the papers of the modern literary figures Carl Sandburg, H.G. Wells, William Maxwell, and W.S. Merwin.

The Eileen Wallace Research Fellowship in Children’s Literature, valued up to $5,000 (CDN) per annum, invites proposals for research and scholarship using the resources of the University of New Brunswick’s Eileen Wallace Children’s Literature Collection. Proposals are welcomed from anyone who can provide evidence of competence and scholarly background and outline a practical and worthwhile project using the resources of the Collection. The award is a Research Fellowship to allow scholars and/or creative writers access to the collection; it is not intended as an undergraduate or graduate financial award. Award winners will be expected to share their research findings in an informal public lecture during their visit to the collection.

A Newberry Library, uma biblioteca independente em Chicago, Illinois, abriu inscrições para seu programa de Bolsa de Estudos em Humanidades 2009-2010. Essa bolsa ampara pesquisas que exijam residência na biblioteca disponiblizando o valor de $25.500 a $70.000.

Newberry Library Fellowships in the Humanities, 2009-2010

The Newberry Library, an independent research library in Chicago, Illinois, invites applications for its 2009-2010 Fellowships in the Humanities. Newberry Library fellowships support research in residence at the Library, and all proposed research must be appropriate to the collections (excluding the Terra Foundation Fellowship and certain short-term awards). Our fellowship program rests on the belief that all projects funded by the Newberry benefit from engagement both with the materials in the Newberry's collections and with the lively community of researchers that gathers around those collections. Long-term residential fellowships are available for periods of six to eleven months to postdoctoral scholars who must hold the Ph.D. at the time of application. The stipend for these fellowships ranges from $25,500 to $70,000. In 2008-2009 the Library inaugurated a new Terra Foundation for American Art Fellowship in Art History carrying an academic-year stipend of $70,000 for a full professor (or its equivalent outside the academy) and $50,400 for all other awardees. Short-term residential fellowships are intended for postdoctoral scholars or Ph.D. candidates from outside the Chicago area who have a specific need for Newberry collections. The tenure of short-term fellowships varies form one week to two months. The amount of the award is generally $1600 per month. Applications for long-term fellowships are due January 12, 2009; applications for most short-term fellowships are due March 2, 2009.
